Camp Abercorn Goes to Sundance
A week ago we returned from The Sundance Film Festival and we’re still thinking about the wonderful time we had and people we met. We ventured out, Scout uniform clad, to spread the good word of Camp Abercorn and hand out some awesome patches. There's a video of our adventure at the bottom of the page.
While we were there, we made another video in the snow, because it's a summer camp show after all, to clarify our intent with the series. We call it our Boy Scout Manifesto. Check it out.
Something else happened while we were there. Something awesome. From the very beginning of the campaign we hoped to get George Takei's involvement, but struggled with finding a way to bring it to his attention. Luckily, his new documentary, "To Be Takei", had it's world premiere at Sundance and we were there in attendance. After the movie we briefly told him about the project, gave him a patch, and took a picture. So now he knows about the project! It's a good place to start. We'll see what the future holds!
Check out the highlights of our time in the snow in our uniforms. The song is “Be Prepared” by Tom Lehrer. He’s a gem.
